It was an intense weekend of hockey as the Coyotes split their home and home affair with the Clarington Toros. Saturday’s game in Clarington saw the Coyotes fall behind 2-0 early in the first period and thanks in part to some questionable officiating, it was an uphill battle for the rest of the afternoon. Despite a late 3rd period goal by the Coyotes, the Toros took the opener 3-1.

On Sunday the Coyotes looked to bounce back from Saturday’s road loss with a strong effort at Elvis Stojko Arena. The Coyotes dominated the early stages of the game and would be rewarded for their efforts with the opening goal. With the momentum in their favor, the Coyotes would add another goal early in the second period play. From that point on, the Coyotes would play smart defensive hockey to preserve the shutout for their goaltender.

A well deserved two points for the Coyotes!
